Volunteer With Us

Why Volunteer? Volunteers are the backbone of our unique program. We cannot provide this service to so many individuals who need it without them. Through this experience you are sure to gain skills, knowledge, and a sense of how important you can be to someone else. Making a new friend and watching them accomplish their goals because of your help can be life changing or even change your outlook on life.

Our volunteer team consists of a variety of people with many different talents and areas of expertise to support skaters on and off the ice. Some might include, but are not limited to: high school and/or college students, teachers, figure skaters, hockey players, business owners/managers, human service professionals, therapists, nurses and other professionals.

Become a volunteer today by completing the registration form. You will then be contacted and provided a short online training session (it is required to be completed BEFORE entering the ice) where you will learn the history of Gliding Stars, basic understanding of the equipment used, important skills, weekly lesson formats, and general safety and season information. Volunteers are expected to complete the season with their paired skater, making every effort to be present each week, and assist your skater in showing off their hard work during the ice show. Afterall, it is only a 25-hour commitment for the entire season!
